The nature reserve and spectacular coastline of St Abb's Head are just a few miles away, and at Berwick-on-Tweed (8 miles), a historic town with impressive Elizabethan ramparts and interesting Barracks Museum, visitors will find a good selection of shops and restaurants as well as cinema and theatre.
The Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Northumbrian Heritage coast, with its glorious unspoilt beaches and castles to explore, are a half hour drive, whilst the myriad delights of Edinburgh, one of the world's greatest and most beautiful cities, are only an hour away.
Mellerstain, Floors Castle and Manderston are among the many fascinating stately homes within easy reach. Shops and pubs serving food ½ mile.
